100% waterproof and built to last 

To make a waterproof sticker, we start with a base of polypropylene vinyl that’s fully liquid-resistant in its own right. It’s then combined it with extra-strong sticker adhesive and water-repellent ink, so any water (and most other liquids) effortlessly bead off to leave your wonderful design unscathed.

However, if you need them to be extra durable - say if they’re likely to experience abrasion or harsh outdoor environments - then we recommend adding gloss or matt lamination when ordering your waterproof stickers. This will provide an extra layer of protection to make them fully weatherproof in wind, rain and snow.

One disadvantage is their slightly higher cost compared to paper stickers, so if spills and splashes aren’t a concern they may be a better fit. However, if getting them wet is likely, or there’s anything which could cause rubbing or scratching, then waterproof is worth the price so you know they can last for years without a hitch.

How you can use waterproof stickers

Given their highly durable properties, these stickers are ideal for any outdoor use, such as logo promotion, signage placement and branding in any external environment. You could even stick them on tables.

They’re also popular for label purposes, such as adding a design to a bottle, jar or container that needs to resist repeated washes or liquid contact.

Other heavy-duty uses include displaying key information on machinery and equipment, as the waterproof nature also makes them highly resistant to dirt, grease and scuffs.

Printed on transparent polypropylene vinyl (waterproof). The printed design can be made opaque with the background remaining see-through.


Metallic

Printed on polypropylene vinyl (waterproof) with a metallic overlay to create a foil effect. You can either have your entire design in metallic or only parts of it (such as a logo or some text).


Textured paper

PThis specialist paper material, known as Martele White, has an embossed finish for a luxury, hand-made aesthetic.


Low tack for windows

Made with either opaque white or transparent polypropylene vinyl (both waterproof). Uses a lower tack adhesive that makes them easier to peel off. Similar to static cling.

Highly durable plastic vinyl material. Tear, scratch and UV resistant. Ideal if liquid contact is possible, or you just want high durability. Recyclable.

Available with these finishes:

  • Uncoated – No lamination, giving a middle-ground finish between gloss and matt.
  • Gloss lamination – A shiny finish with even more durability thanks to the laminate coating.
  • Matt lamination – A silky finish. Also with more durability due to the lamination.

Premium paper stock that’s not waterproof or as strong as vinyl, but still holds up well to light abrasion such as being regularly handled. It’s also a lower cost than waterproof polypropylene. Recyclable and biodegradable.

Printed on transparent waterproof plastic with the following options:

Choose the print direction

Normal print has the adhesive on the back and the design on the front. Reverse print has the design on the adhesive side, so it can be stuck onto a transparent surface (like a window) and show the design on the opposite side of the glass. If in doubt, normal print is most likely what you require.

Choose the adhesive

Standard adhesive has a strong hold designed for permanent use. Low tack adhesive is better for temporary use as it’s easier to remove.

Would you like white ink?

Coloured inks printed on clear plastic can be semi-opaque. With white ink, we’ll print a layer of white underneath the printed parts of your design to make them more vibrant. You should also choose this option if you want any parts of your design printed in visible white (such as white text).

Printed on white or transparent waterproof vinyl with the following options:

Standard (on white plastic)

On white plastic for an entirely opaque result. You can also choose the print direction (where the design on the front-face (normal) or on the adhesive side (reverse)), and the finish, where Standard is semi-gloss and gloss laminate is shiny and more durable.

Clear (on transparent plastic)

On transparent plastic so the background is see-through. You can also choose the print direction and finish in the same way as standard. White ink is also available to make the printed parts of your design fully opaque instead of semi-opaque.

On rolls

Supplied on reels around 76mm cardboard tube cores (if you need a different core size please contact us).

Hand apply – No specific set up of the stickers/labels on the roll. Best for applying by hand.

Machine apply – Explain the required orientation/leading edge, winding, number of labels per roll, max roll diameter and anything else you need. This is very important if you’re putting the rolls into a mechanical label applicator. If we need any clarification we’ll contact you.

On sheets

Choose from the standard sizes of DL, A6, A5 or A4. We’ll fit as many of the stickers/labels as we can on each sheet. If a size is unavailable it means your sticker/label is too big to fit.

Individual singles

We’ll cut each label or sticker into individual singles with the backing still applied.

Machine Apply

To make the rolls compatible with your sticker or label applicator, explain any details such as the required:

  • Orientation/leading edge
  • Winding
  • Number of labels per roll
  • Max roll diameter
  • or anything else you need

You can also enter the specific number of rolls you require, and we’ll divide the overall sticker/label quantity by the number of rolls (so if you order 1000 labels and 5 rolls, each roll will have 200 labels).

Do I need this?

These settings are very important if you’re putting the rolls into a mechanical label applicator, as the rolls must be compatible with your equipment (which can vary).

Waterproof sticker features

Adhesive: High-tack and strong

We only use extra-strong adhesive which is, of course, fully waterproof. It ensures no curled sticker edges or unwanted movement, and resists temperatures of -30c to 80c to make it versatile for even extreme uses. Despite this, it is still removeable with a bit of elbow grease if required.

Material: Premium polypropylene vinyl

Our material of choice is this waterproof thermoplastic that’s biaxially oriented for extra toughness to resist rips, tears and punctures. It also includes a specialised top coat for improved ink adhesion. It’s recyclable too!

Ink: Professional UV-resistant inks

We only use commercial HP inks with ElectroInk technology. They produce beautiful, vibrant colours to really enhance the quality of your waterproof stickers, all while being water-resistant.

Weatherproof lamination

The final touch is adding a laminate coating in gloss or matt. This seals up the printed design and provides a tough protective layer that also makes the stickers fully weatherproof if required.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

They are stickers made using a specific mixture of materials, inks and adhesives to make them fully water-resistant.

With non-forceful water contact (like drips or light showering) they can last for many years. Potentially a decade or more! If the sticker is going to be hit by pressurised water (like a jet or a hose), they will likely last a few years providing they’re fully stuck down on a smooth surface for maximum bonding strength.

If you’re using them as outdoor stickers, they can last for 3-5 years, but the design may fade slightly in a shorter timeframe if the stickers are exposed to significant amounts of direct sunlight. If this is a concern, contact us first for advice.

You can choose any shape (including custom shapes) and enter ANY size with your own measurements. For the sticker material you must choose polypropylene vinyl as this is the most waterproof by far. Beyond that, you can choose from a matt or gloss finish, as well as specialist options such as clear transparent and metallic, which are also made from the same material.

You can also choose from rolls, sheets, or individual singles to make them far easier to use and apply in the way you wish.

In the case of our product, yes they can! However you must add lamination on during the order process for an extra layer of ink protection. This combination will give your stickers full weatherproof properties, including UV resistance for outdoor use.
Peel the sticker away from the backing material (avoid touching the adhesive side as best you can), and then place it down and push from the middle outwards to remove any air bubbles. Ensure all the edges are smoothed down firmly.

No. Stickers made with other materials like paper can be somewhat moisture-resistant, but for full waterproof properties you need to buy dedicated waterproof stickers.

Yes they can be made to be safe in dishwasher cycles, but only when applied on a smooth, clean surface with none of the adhesive side exposed, so make sure all edges are stuck down flat.
If your stickers are exposed to clean water then they’ll be pretty much self-cleaning! But if any dirt or grime does make it onto your sticker, they can be wiped down with a damp cloth and a touch of soap if necessary.
Unfortunately not, as they have to be made out of plastic to be waterproof. Paper would just fall to bits eventually. However, the good news is they are recyclable.

They certainly can. The process we use means they can also resist detergents, chemicals, soaps, oils, cosmetics and almost every other non-corrosive liquid.
